What leasing your own German warehouse actually costs
A warehouse of your own is not only rent. It is a multi-year lease signed before you know your European volume, racking and equipment bought up front, staff hired and trained, a German entity to sign the lease, insurance, and a fixed cost that stays the same in the months when you ship very little.
For a company testing the European market, or growing into it, that is a large commitment made at exactly the moment you have the least information. It also fails in the other direction: outgrow the space and you are back to negotiating, moving and repeating the whole exercise.

How capacity works
Capacity that grows with your business
We plan your storage around the volumes you tell us about at onboarding and review it as your order flow changes. If you send more stock, we plan the space for it. If a season is quiet, you are not paying for space you set aside months ago.
We will be direct about the flip side: because capacity is assigned per client rather than sold from a large pre-built pool, we need lead time before a big inbound shipment. Tell us what is coming and when, and we will confirm before it ships.

About storing goods with us
Do I need a German company to store goods in Germany?
You do not need a German legal entity to have goods stored and fulfilled by Madyel. You may still have German or EU VAT registration obligations depending on how and to whom you sell — that is a tax question specific to your situation, and you should confirm it with a tax adviser. We can tell you what we see other clients doing; we cannot give you tax advice.
How is storage priced?
Storage is priced by the space your goods occupy over time — pallet, shelf or bin positions per period — and is quoted separately from handling and shipping. Separating them means you can see which part of your cost is stock sitting still and which part is orders moving.
Is there a minimum volume?
There is no minimum footprint you have to fill. There is a practical lower bound where the setup effort outweighs the benefit for both sides, and we will say so plainly if your volume sits below it rather than taking you on and underserving you.
What happens if my volume grows quickly?
Tell us early. Capacity is assigned per client, so a large increase needs planning rather than a same-week reaction. With notice, growth is straightforward; without it, we may have to stage an inbound shipment.
Are my goods insured while in storage?
Insurance arrangements are set out in the contract for each client, including what is covered, up to what value, and what you should insure yourself. This is one of the points to settle before goods ship, and we will put it in writing rather than leaving it to assumption.
